To undertake research, development activities and resource management in aquaculture, fisheries and allied sciences.

1. To conduct research and development in natural ecosystems for resource and environmental management.

2. To develop sustainable technologies and management in fisheries and other natural resource systems.

3. To promote publication and dissemination of research and development outputs.
